Guild Challenge

I am a member of the Queenstown Embroiderer's Guild.

There has been a challenge set and needs to be finished by April.

I started mine today and have spent most of the day trying to decide what to do.

You see we were all able to pick a fabulous sketch from the very famous milliner, Lindsay Kennett.

This is the one I chose and for some strange reason, I have decided on PURPLE as my colour.

I don't do PURPLE!

Right outside my comfort zone, that's probably why I have been sitting here all day.

Too scared to just get on with it, I have been colouring in, such fun!

I have sat and coloured and decided what fabric and stitches will go where and now I am ready to start.

Most impressed with myself really.
I don't normally do any preparation.

As you can see, I have put some purple velvet and some purple satin onto my sketch and have started some gold stitching.

A close up shows you a little better, but BLOGGER!!! has decided to place the picture sideways.

There is a lot of stitching to be done to get the shadow effect.

When it is finished we have to name her and tell her story.
Where is she going?
Who is she going with?
How did she get invited to this event or place?

Really good fun.

When she is finished, I will reveal her story.
